www.nmcrs.org (The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.)

www.nmfa.org (To educate military families concerning their rights, benefits and services available to them and to inform them regarding the issues that affect their lives and to promote and protect the interests of military families by influencing the development and implementation of legislation and policies affecting them.

www.okinawahai.com (This is a blog for people on Okinawa or on their way to Okinawa. This is different than a website because it is interactive. It is a community of folks in the same boat helping each other out.)

www.time2pcs.com This is a great site with tons of information about life on Okinawa. It's updated frequently, so be sure to bookmark it and check back often. In fact, you can even submit your own Okinawan tips for inclusion to help others.

www.pref.okinawa.jp/bunshin/english/index.html (This is the site of the Okinawa Culture Promotion Division. In the bottom middle, click on "Kariyushi Arts Performances," scroll down, and click on any dance. There's lots of great information on all Okinawan dances.)

Education Links

www.goou.ou.edu (This is the site of the University of Oklahoma, which offers four different masters' degree programs: Master of Arts in Economics, Master of Public Administration, Master of Human Relations, and Master of Human Relations with an emphasis in Community Services. Classes are held Monday through Friday in the evenings and then a half day on Saturday, which is convenient for the professional student's schedule. 634-1606.)

Travel Links

www.japaneseguesthouses.com (If you want to experience a traditional Japanese Ryokan, check out this site. You can learn all about ryokans, research a place, and have them book your stay.)

www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/ (To get information about train pricing and routes the "Japanese Traffic Guide" at is an invaluable resource. All you need to do is put your nearest station in the first box and your destination in the second and it will tell you how to get there, the amount of time it will take, and approximately how much money it will cost.)
